Measuring the speed of a bullet during forensic ballistic examinations, testing small arms and sporting and hunting weapons and ammunition.
A complex of two separate blocks: a sensor block and a meter block, connected to each other by a cable.
Operating principle
Measuring the time it takes a bullet to cross planes controlled by sensors located at a certain distance.
Measurement
- The bullet flies in the sensor response zone, blocking some of the light coming from the LEDs to the photodetectors.
- An electrical impulse is generated at the photodetectors.
- Pulses enter the meter block.
- The delay time between pulses is determined.
- The bullet speed is calculated.
- The measurement results are displayed on the digital indicator of the meter block. When working with a computer, they are transmitted via the RS-232 or USB port and are drawn up in the form of a protocol.
