Ion drift detector "Kerber-T"
Ion-drift detector "Kerber-T" - designed for automatic detection of traces of explosives, narcotic and toxic substances, both on the surface and in the air. The device is used in the field of transport security (stations, subways), the Russian Federal Customs Service is used to control cargo, and widespread use is also announced to guarantee safety during the 2018 World Cup. The base of detectable substances is constantly expanding in a changing world, which allows the detector to be a sales leader in its segment.
Operating principle
The main advantages of Kerber-T are portability and sensitivity, which are ensured by applying the principle of the difference in the speed of ions in contact with molecules and atoms in the air. This method is called ion mobility spectrometry. The process of air ionization is carried out by reproducing a corona discharge, which eliminates the use of elements with radioactive radiation to produce an ion flow.
Advantages
The Kerber-Timet ion drift detector has a number of advantages, including:

- Identification of more than forty chemical, hazardous substances: drugs, explosive, causing acute poisoning;
- Identification of negative and positive ions;
- Quick transition to the detection mode for vapors and traces of substances;
- Complete set without the need to purchase additional modules and attachments;
- More than four hours of battery life;
- Safe ionization source;
- Measurement time no more than 5 seconds;
- Certification according to GOST.
Operating modes
The Kerber-T detector performs analysis in two modes:

- checking the air environment for the presence of particles of harmful and dangerous substances;
- checking the air environment for the presence of vapors of harmful and dangerous substances.
The latter mode is more sensitive and is often used to search for narcotic and toxic substances, as well as their compounds. After scanning an air sample, the results are compared with the spectral traces of known poisons and explosives in the device’s own database. The analysis results are displayed on a digital display; when target substances are detected in the sample, the device beeps and the interface on the screen turns red.
To update the database, a transmission interface is used via an Ethernet port or via Wi-Fi, which allows updating directly at a security post or other workspace where digital equipment is available.
Features of use

The ion drift detector is equipped with a sensitive sampling device. It is enough to place the sample or scanned area in front of the analyzer, and the substances for which the device is configured will be measured. To make the device convenient to use in different positions, a comfortable handle is provided on top for carrying.
Working with the detector does not require advanced qualifications for the operator; all the nuances are explained in detail and clearly in the instructions, and the intuitive interface and conveniently located controls simplify operation.
Since the device is a thin measuring device, there are restrictions on operation: the air temperature should not exceed 50 degrees Celsius, humidity - 80%. Frost and dry air also negatively affect the result of the verification procedure.
