Radiation testing installation for neutron radiation, URPN-RM9200 series
Description
Neutron radiation calibration installations of the URPN-RM9200 series are designed for automated verification, calibration, calibration and testing of neutron radiation measuring instruments by reproducing and transmitting units of neutron radiation flux density, ambient dose equivalent rate and individual neutron dose equivalent rate
radiation.
Installations with a set of neutron radiation sources ensure the creation of a neutron radiation field of fast and thermal neutrons in a collimated beam, as well as the formation of a neutron field in open geometry.
The installations use closed radionuclide sources of neutron radiation from 238Pu-Be, 239Pu-BE, 241Am-Be and 252Cf.
The installation is available in three modifications, which differ in irradiators.
Operating principle
The operating principle of the installations is based on reproducing reference values of dosimetric quantities using neutron radiation sources of various activities and changing the distance between the source and the device being tested.
Sources of neutron radiation are stored and operated in a single- or multi-position irradiator. Changing the distance between the source and the device under test is implemented using a linear movement system.
Control of the selection of a source in the irradiator, the output of the selected source to the operating position and the position of the device under test in the radiation beam of the installations is carried out by the operator remotely from the installation control panel or automatically using special metrological software (software) installed on a personal computer (PC).

Installation control system
All installation mechanisms are controlled from a control panel installed in the control room. The control panel has a touchscreen LCD display with a diagonal screen size of 304 mm. From the control panel you can control all installation mechanisms in semi-automatic and adjustment modes, as well as monitor their position. The console display also displays various text messages about the operation of the installation mechanisms and measurement data of temperature, humidity and DER from detectors of the radiation monitoring system.
Radiation monitoring system
Monitors the radiation situation and consists of a remote control and four intelligent detection units, two gamma radiation and two neutron radiation. One gamma and neutron radiation detector is placed on the wall in the installation room, the working chamber and in the operator’s room.
The console screen displays information about the current measured DER values from the detectors and an alarm about exceeding the thresholds set for each detector.
CCTV system
Allows you to monitor instrument readings on the desktop, remotely control the position of the moving platform using a viewfinder and a reading scale, monitor processes in the room, and also remotely control the camera for monitoring instrument readings.
Alarm and locking system
It is a set of mechanisms and devices that, together with the control system, provide personnel protection from radiation exposure.
Additional auxiliary equipment and accessories are available upon separate order.
