Portal monitor YANTAR-2L
Stationary system for detecting radioactive materials during cargo control in vehicles.
Purpose
Automatic detection of gamma radiation sources moving through the control zone in various vehicles, including railway cars and heavy-duty vehicles.
Highly sensitive to gamma radiation, Yantar-2L radiation monitors were specially designed for monitoring raw materials, products and waste from metallurgical production, but are also successfully used at waste disposal plants, at enterprises for the extraction and processing of nuclear materials, nuclear power plants and other civil and military facilities.
Design
Radiation portal monitors "Yantar-2L" are made in the form of two metal stands, installed opposite each other at the edges of the controlled area. Inside each rack there are two gamma detectors and electronics units. Radiation monitors are equipped with sound and light alarms, as well as indications for diagnosing performance.
The use of lead screens makes it possible to increase the efficiency of detecting gamma radiation sources.
Presence sensors ensure reliable detection of a vehicle in the control zone even in difficult weather conditions.
The design of racks, detectors and electronics units ensures their protection from environmental influences, including high humidity and salt fog.
Radiation monitors provide data transfer to a control panel or to a computer with specialized software installed.
The width of the control zone is determined by the customer, taking into account the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Coordination of non-standard solutions is carried out taking into account the characteristics of installation sites and the requirements for minimum detectable quantities of radioactive materials.
