Portal monitor YANTAR-A
Stationary system for detecting fissile and radioactive materials during vehicle control.
Purpose
Automatic detection of gamma and neutron radiation sources moving through the control zone in vehicles. Radiation portal monitors are equipped with gamma and neutron registration channels and are installed at vehicle checkpoints of various purposes, configurations and capacities.
High sensitivity, reliability, proven by many years of operation in different climatic zones of the globe, ease of use and maintenance have made radiation monitors of the Yantar-A series the most popular among consumers.
Design
Radiation portal monitors of the Yantar-A series are made in the form of metal racks installed opposite each other along the edges of the roadway. Electronics units, gamma and neutron detectors are located inside the racks. Radiation monitors are equipped with sound and light alarms, as well as indications for diagnosing performance.
The use of lead screens for gamma detectors makes it possible to increase the efficiency of detecting gamma radiation sources.
Presence sensors ensure reliable detection of a vehicle in the control zone even in difficult weather conditions.
The design of racks, detectors and electronics units ensures their protection from environmental influences, including high humidity and salt fog.
Radiation monitors provide data transfer to a control panel or to a computer with specialized software installed.
The Yantar-A series of radiation monitors also includes models with increased sensitivity of gamma and neutron radiation detectors and an enlarged lead screen.
The selection of a specific model of the Yantar-A radiation monitor, as well as the approval of non-standard solutions, including single-rack versions, is carried out taking into account the characteristics of installation sites and the requirements for minimum detectable quantities of radioactive and nuclear materials.
The values in the “Characteristics” section are given for a two-post radiation monitor with gamma and neutron channels “Yantar-1A”.
