Portal monitor YANTAR-P
Stationary system for detecting fissile and radioactive materials when monitoring pedestrians.
Purpose
Automatic detection of gamma and neutron radiation sources moving through the control zone by a pedestrian.
Radiation portal monitors of the Yantar-P series are designed for organizing continuous radiation monitoring points both indoors and outdoors. They can be used to equip a pedestrian checkpoint in customs control zones, at airports, train stations, checkpoints of nuclear power plants, enterprises for the extraction and processing of nuclear materials, offices, banks and other industrial and civil facilities.
Design
Radiation portal monitors of the Yantar-P series are racks installed opposite each other along the border of the control zone. Gamma and neutron detectors and electronics units are located inside each rack. Radiation monitors are equipped with light and sound alarm elements, as well as indications for diagnosing operability.
The use of lead screens for gamma detectors makes it possible to increase the efficiency of detecting gamma radiation sources.
Presence sensors signal the presence or absence of an object in the control zone. Compact radar, infrared or optical sensors are used as presence sensors, depending on the radiation monitor model and operating conditions.
Radiation monitors provide data transfer to a control panel or to a computer with specialized software installed.
The Yantar-P series of radiation monitors also includes models that can be used outdoors.
The selection of a specific model of the Yantar-P radiation monitor, as well as the approval of non-standard solutions, including single-rack versions, is carried out taking into account the characteristics of installation sites and the requirements for minimum detectable quantities of radioactive and nuclear materials.
The values in the “Characteristics” section are given for a two-post radiation monitor with gamma and neutron detectors “Yantar-2P”.
