THE SPHINX CJSC COMPANY WARNS: THE APPEARANCE OF FAKE METAL DETECTORS WHICH EXTERNALLY REPEAT THE MODELS HAS INCREASED IN THE RUSSIAN MARKETSPHINX» VM-612 (PRO) AND VM-611VIHR (PRO).
The name of the fake metal detectors – “Phoenix” – is similar to the original. The “manufacturer” of counterfeits is Lanti LLC, general director: Aleev Timur Marsovich. Supplies are carried out by Lerta LLC, General Director: Aleev Mars Khasanovich. Both legal entities are located at the same address: 420094, Kazan, st. Marshala Chuikova, 2. The counterfeit passport “PHOENIX P-04” indicating the legal entities producing and supplying these products can be viewed here. There is even a website that is under “reconstruction” - http://mdphenix.ru.
Upon closer examination of the fakes, you can easily understand that they were made in China. There are links to the Chinese manufacturer “TEC SECURITY LIMITED” and a declaration of conformity that points to the general director Aleev T.M. A Chinese company produces counterfeits of “SPHINX” “VM-612”. However, the country of production of the counterfeit is indicated as the Russian Federation. Companies in which Aleev T.M. is the director and on whose behalf counterfeit products are currently being supplied or may be supplied by SPHINX CJSC: NETWORK SOLUTIONS COMPANY LLC, TN-TRADE LLC, RTM LLC, LANTI LLC, LERTA LLC, RTM Service LLC, E&G LLC (all Kazan, the list of companies will be updated).
The PHOENIX P-04 model is a low-quality counterfeit of the SPHINX metal detector VM-611Vikhr, produced by SPHINX CJSC. The priority of the registered trademark “SPHINX” (owned by JSC SPHINX since 1992) is confirmed by numerous patents, copyright certificates, certificates for industrial designs and utility models, in addition, almost all models of metal detectors (more than 20 types and modifications of devices) produced since 1992 and currently produced have undergone voluntary certification in authorized organizations of various ministries and departments (Ministry of Internal Affairs, Moscow State Administration, FSIN, etc.).
The fake PHOENIX P-04, despite its almost complete external resemblance to the original SPHINX VM-611Whirlwind and the characteristics declared in the accompanying documentation, has such low detection and operational characteristics that the device is sometimes impossible to use as an inspection metal detector.
An independent examination of a batch of Phoenix P-04 devices supplied to one of the government customers as a result of a won tender revealed the following:
1. A detailed examination of structural elements, materials and components indicates a real, Chinese manufacturer of the specified devices;
2. Body parts are copied in exact accordance with the original “SPHINX” “VM-611Whirlwind”. However, the use of cheap and low-quality components for electronic equipment and inattention (or lack of understanding by the “developer” and “manufacturer”) to the manufacturing technologies of key components of the devices indicates their lack of professionalism;
3. The technical and operational characteristics of the PHOENIX P-04 devices do not stand up to criticism:
- The devices “feel” the human body when scanning with a search element, identifying it as “metal” and generating false alarms;
- The stability of the devices is at a low level, constant false alarms (in the absence of metal objects in the area of the search element), as well as a strong influence on the devices of external interference (operation on a walkie-talkie - 5 meters).
- The darkest aspect of the audit was such a characteristic as consumption. When the device is OFF, it consumes about 4 mA (with a connected 200 mAh battery, the device will drain it in 2 days, without even turning on). In search mode, consumption is 32 mA - the device in search mode will work for 6 hours (without triggering metal), in vibration mode - consumption is 105 mA - such a device will work for less than 2 hours (for example, “SPHINX” VM-611Vikhr in search mode consumes 3 mA, i.e. 10 times less than the fake “PHOENIX P-04”).

The management of SPHINX CJSC urges its customers to be careful when purchasing metal detectors. It's no secret that the market for counterfeit metal detectors, unfortunately, is still actively developing in Russia. The consumer's desire to save money without thinking about the consequences actively contributes to this. Consumers neglect the fact that their own safety and the safety of the facility depends on the effective operation of the metal detector.
The country's security is at risk when counterfeits enter the market for special inspection equipment.
