An introscope is a type of X-ray machine that is used to inspect luggage, hand luggage and cargo without opening them. Such inspection equipment is used at airports, train stations, inspection points, border crossings and in crowded places to ensure security.
Stationary introscopes are most widely used. These X-ray television introscopes are used for continuous operation and inspection of large objects and bulky cargo. They are installed in entrance areas to prevent the bringing of dangerous objects, explosives and other prohibited items into the facility.
How does an introscope work?
The introscope is designed to check the contents without opening it. The object is placed on a conveyor belt, after which it undergoes X-ray scanning in a closed chamber with an inspection tunnel. The scanning is performed using X-rays, and the data is sent to an X-ray system where image processing is performed. The result is displayed on the screen (monitor) and allows the operator to quickly identify threats.
X-ray television installations are equipped with powerful processors and modern analysis systems. They provide storage, transmission and archiving of data. The X-ray system can store up to 150,000 images for later content verification and analysis.
A modern X-ray television introscope forms a clear image, marking organics, metals, liquids and other types of substances in different colors and additionally highlighting potentially dangerous areas.
